Happy Holidays from your friends at Aware
by Aware
What an incredible year we’ve had. Despite the ups and downs of pandemic life and an ever-shifting landscape, 2021 was a year of growth for Aware and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our employees, our investors, our advisors, our champions and, of course, our customers and partners.
We grew our team in every direction—across all departments, levels and geographies. Members of the A-Team now live as far away as Alaska, San Francisco, and Denver to the west and all the way to New York and Florida in the east! We accomplished this growth while also cementing the strength of our extraordinary company culture—a pillar of our identity since day one.
We announced new investors with our $60 million Series C investment round, led by the Growth Equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Our existing, faithful investors continue to support us as well: Spring Mountain Capital, Blue Heron Capital, Allos Ventures, Ohio Innovation Fund, JobsOhio, Rev1 Ventures, Draper Triangle Ventures, and JumpStart.
We welcomed new customers, as we continue to partner with leading global organizations in every vertical to provide compliance, information governance and eDiscovery capabilities for the data that flows so freely in platforms like Slack, Workplace from Meta, Teams and others. Today, Aware ingests and enriches over 200 million pieces of content per month--an increase of more than 165% in this year alone--all for the benefit of our customers.
Our existing customers also helped us to drive new features and innovations. We added Advanced Monitoring Permissions to allow more users to get value out of Aware, sped up processing time with new eDiscovery capabilities, including new search tools and analytics to find the needle in the haystack faster, and we added to the list of platforms we integrate with (ahem: Zoom).
Our customers expanded how they use Aware, too. Some customers use Aware for Data Loss Protection (DLP) for Slack to protect sensitive information and regulations like HIPAA compliance, others use our collaboration-first eDiscovery capabilities to enhance Microsoft Teams features, while others focus on our proprietary Sentiment Analysis to enable organizational insight into employee engagement. Many of our customers leverage Aware for all of those uses, and more.
We continued to deepen our relationships with our integration partners. We pride ourselves on building personal relationships with our partners, and we’re lucky that they feel the same way (we’re looking at you Slack, Workplace, and Yammer 🙌). We look forward to developing these deep relationships with our newest integrations.
In a similar vein, we continued to build relationships with our resellers and distribution network, too. Everyone in sales knows the importance of channel, and that isn’t lost on us! We’re grateful for the partners we have, and we’re excited to nurture those relationships.
As we look to a new year and new opportunities for growth, we remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering organizations to foster a safe and secure digital workplace for employees. Business communication is evolving quickly, and Aware offers the capabilities needed for leaders to evolve with it.
Our Chief of Product Matt Pasternack said it best, “The foundation we built at Aware, combined with the current market conditions, puts us in a great position to enter the next phase of our journey—a phase that takes employee empowerment to the next level and helps organizations see their employees as human, understanding their unique enterprise DNA.”
The entire team here at Aware thanks you for being a part of our growth this year, and we look forward to partnering with you in 2022.
